Zap Mama
I created this substantial collage as a tribute to my two most powerful experiences of motherhood connected by a rich, golden winding umbilical thread to symbolise the timeless love and connection between mother and child. For a funky spin I entitled this artwork “Zap Mama” after the afro-pop group of the same name. This artwork was previously exhibited in my solo exhibition, “African Heart.”
Dimensions: 190 x 72 cm professionally framed
Media: Collage, found objects, gold leaf, beads, charcoal, acrylic paint
Date: 2003
Shipping cost: TBC
